Our Beliefs
We believe in GOD
God has spoken through the Bible, which is His Word. It is completely reliable and tells us all we need to know about God and about ourselves. The Bible is the only authority for all that we believe and teach.
There are three divine persons in the one Godhead — God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Although three Persons, they are only one God. We cannot fully understand this, but we believe it because it is in the Bible.
God created the universe and formed our first parents, Adam and Eve. They disobeyed God and brought sin into the world. We have all inherited a sinful nature from them.
We believe in Grace
God's grace is free. It is the unmerited kindness of God to save people from the eternal punishment they deserve.
We all need God's grace because we have all disobeyed the laws God has given us in the Bible. Our disobedience deserves eternal punishment.
God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to save His people. He lived a perfect life, died on the cross, rose from the dead and returned to heaven. He paid the penalty for the sins of His people, and perfectly fulfilled the law of God in their place. The only way of salvation is by trusting in the completed work of Jesus Christ.
We believe in the New Birth
God gives His people a new inner life, by the Holy Spirit living in them. We cannot leave our sins or trust in God's grace by our own power. But God deals personally with each of His people, so that they repent of their sins and trust only in the mercy of God.
Today, God still speaks by the Holy Spirit to the hearts of those He will save. He continues teaching them everything they need to know, and they learn to depend more and more upon God's grace.
Those who have been born again are taught to hate sin. They still often fail and have to continue praying for forgiveness.
Our preaching often speaks of the experience of the working of the Holy Spirit in the hearts of the hearers.
We believe in God's Plan
God rules over everything and is in control of everything. He created the world in six days; all things are in His control until the end of time.
In love, God saves those people He chose to save, even though they do not deserve it. We do not know who God chose, so we should all seek to be saved by God. He has promised to save all who seek Him with the whole heart.
God has fixed a day when Jesus Christ will return to Earth in great glory, to judge everyone who has ever lived. Those people who have been saved by God from their sins will be with Christ for ever. Everyone else will suffer the just reward of their sinful disobedience for ever.
We believe in the Power of Prayer
God hears and answers prayer
He helps us in our daily lives according to His will.
Much more importantly, He answers prayer for salvation.
